Many off duty first responders volunteer for such groups. These cities and agencies also subsidize equipment used in such exercises including scuba gear and other expensive equipment. You’ll find these public safety people to be excellent word of mouth networking friends for your small business.

Meaning there will not be any business during that time, so you may as well take your energies to the street to do the right thing. Think about it.
