Regardless of whether you have a Mini Cooper or your pride and joy Hummer H3, both need looking after if you want to keep them in the same pristine condition you purchased them in. When you start to enter the cold months of winter, you have to look after your Hummer to prevent it from getting over weathered, as regardless of size and power, the cold weather effects everything and everyone.

There are numerous things that can be done in order to ease the freezing months on your vehicle, allowing your vehicle to not deteriorate throughout the winter, retain its look and value, and stop and start as it is meant to. There are a few main purchases and jobs that should be done to make life a lot easier for you and your Hummer H3 in the winter months.

You can start at the front, back, top or bottom, so let’s start from the bottom and work are way up. Tyres as always should be regularly checked for the correct tyre pressure, as in the winter time the cold temperature causes the pressure in tyres to drop, which can be dangerous if not checked regularly, but one of the main advantages is that the correct pressure will return more miles per gallon and much longer life for those highly prized tyres. While checking for pressure it is also beneficial to check that you tyres have plenty of tread left on them and that they are all legal, as bald tyres and snow do not mix well at all.

When it’s cold there’s frost and ice, so the next essential is to purchase some antifreeze. It doesn’t cost much and works wonders for numerous components of your car. Investing in an ice scraper is a must, and it’s always beneficial to have on board a thick warm blanket and a fist aid kit, just in case of a worse case scenario. This is not only advise for the cold winter months, but also for any month of the year regardless of the temperature, as you should always prepare for the worst case scenario just in case an unfortunate event was to happen.
